STRUCTURAL (TRANSMİSYON) STEELS

Structural or transmission steels are generally defined as unalloyed steels which their mechanical features mostly depend on the amount of carbon in them. There are manganese (Mn), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), silicon (Si), and copper (Cu) and sulfur (S) components in their composition resulting from the production methods. Since the carbon (C) values are low, strength increase is provided by manganese (Mn) in their structure. Thanks to containing low carbon, they provide high welding capability to the materials. While cold drawn form of these materials are called transmission steels in the commercial sector; tensile stress and yield limit values St37-2, St44-2, St52-3 etc., not according to chemical composition. They are also named as such.

They are primarily preferred to be used in steel structures, bridge construction, pressure vessels and equipment, vehicle manufacturing and machine structures.

They could be produced in standard lengths of 3-6 meter or get customized with special sizes in accordance with TS EN 10025-2 quality Standard and TS EN 10278 Dimensions and Tolerances Standard.
