SHEETS
Sheets; are produced by uncoiling and hot rolling process. Thicknesses between 1.50 mm - 200.00 mm, widths between 1000 mm - 3000 mm, lengths between 1000 mm - 12000 mm of these products could be cut into the desired sizes. The thicknesses could vary significantly from extremely thin sheets which are considered as foils or sheets to the ones thicker than 6 mm (0.25) which are considered as plate or structural steels. Steel sheets are produced by rolling intermediate steels, called slab, with rectangular cross-section shape obtained from continuous casting plants. Hot rolled coils, whose oxide layer is cleaned and lubricated on the surface of pickling (the process of cleaning the metal with acid to prepare its surface before cold rolling) or sandblasting, are rolled to desired thicknesses and rewound in tandem lines where several cold rolling stands are lined up one after another. Cold rolled steel sheets; could be used for special purposes by being coated with plating materials such as tin, chrome, zinc or zinc-iron alloy.
They are mostly used in manufacturing of construction and industrial machineries, general construction plates, road & railway vehicles, storage tanks, containers, pressure vessels or boilers, shipbuilding, traffic signs and highway equipment, pipe profiles (stitched), elevators.
