FREE CUTTING STEELS
Free cutting steels, are steels specially developed for machining process. The capability of enabling free machining utilization highly exists in such products and top features including offering high cutting speed, tool life prolonging, and good bar surface quality are the most convincing reasons why these products are preferred.
Free cutting steels are alloyed with sulfur and phosphorus components to increase their machining capability. These components increase brittleness and provide short chips. In such products alloyed with lead components, the mechanical properties remain the same to increase the lubrication capability during material processing.
The products are manufacture in difference shapes with variety of sizes including round bars (H9 tolerance), hexagonal bars (H11 tolerance) and square bars (H11 tolerance) in accordance with TS EN 10277-3 Quality Standard and TS EN 10278 Dimensions and Tolerances Standard. [11SMnPb30 (SAE12L13), 11SMNPb37 (SAE12L14), 11SMn30 (SAE1213), 11SMn37 (SAE1215)]
